Texas Wonders and Maravillas is designed to foster a love of reading in all of our students. Through exploration of texts
and daily development of their skills as readers, writers, speakers, and active listeners, students experience the power of literacy. Our focus on teaching the whole child - and
every child - prepares students to be lifelong learners and critical thinkers. By providing a
comprehensive set of connected resources for all learners in grades K-5 - grounded in the TEKS and ELPS -

- Helps to foster the development of Bilingual, Biliterate and Bicultural Students
- Is designed based on research from Literacy Experts such as Dr. Doug Fisher, Dr. Jana Echevarria, and Dr. Donald Bear
- Provides a Bridge to English that gives teachers instruction to facilitate the transition from the Spanish language classroom to the English language arts classroom
- Focuses on student-centered learning, small group teaching, and mini-lessons with embedded support for English Language Learners, gifted and talented students and students in need of Tier 2 instruction
- Uses an integrated approach to Social-Emotional Skills to gives our learners the critical competencies to experience in school and life with understanding, flexibility, support, and resiliency
